F.A.Q.'s:

Q: I know my lawn needs to be cut once a week in the spring and fall but do I really need to mow it on a weekly basis during the warmer drier months of the year.

A: Ideal provides weekly lawn maintenance. This is to maintain proper company scheduling for better service to our customers while maintaining a neat and clean image for you and your property.

Lawn Sprinkler Systems Installation and Service:


Ideal strives for perfection in the area of lawn sprinkler systems. We have found that the Weathermatic Smartline (www.weathermatic.com)controller with the optional weather monitor and the Rain Bird rotor heads, spray heads, drip tubing, and valves, compliment each other well for accurate and efficient watering based on precipitation rates, minimized runoff, and weather based watering.

Our lawn sprinkler service division is proud to service brands such as Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, and Weathermatic. Our service technicians are well trained and operate clean and well organized service trucks. Our service trucks are stocked with parts from all major brands which results prompt service and minimized returns for service.

Turf and Landscape Care:


Ideal Lawn and Landscape offers turf and landscape programs to ensure proper health and care are given to your plants. Proper levels and timing of fertilizing is crucial to plant health. Inadequate, excess, or poor timing of fertilizing can cause poor coloring, thin or poor growth, and can cause plants to be prone to disease. Ideal Lawn and Landscape staffs state licensed professionals to assure proper and accurate products are used on your property.

Our turf care programs are designed to keep your lawn lush, weed free and healthy. Our program is designed specifically for the Kansas City region to extend the active season and health of your lawn. With proper timing of applications, your lawn will green up sooner in the spring, conserve water in the summer and maintain a lush green lawn later into the fall. A proper fertilization is also critical for preventing disease, summer stress and insect damage. Our program consists of a 6 step fertilizer, insect and weed control plan along with aeration, verti-cutting and over seeding

  1. Early Spring:
    Application of a pre-emergent herbicide for control of grassy weeds and a broadleaf weed control of grassy weeds. Application includes fertilizer with pre emergent weed control.
  2. Mid-Spring: Aeration is recommended at this time
    Second application of a pre-emergent herbicide for control of grassy weeds and a broadleaf weed control. An iron supplement with micronutrients will also be added to improve summer hardiness
  3. Early Summer:
    Application of a time released balanced fertilizer and season long grub and insect control. Includes broadleaf herbicide treatment as needed.
  4. Early Fall: Aeration, verti-cutting and over seeding are recommended at this time
    Application of a time released balanced fertilizer and broadleaf herbicide; spot treatment as needed. Rejuvenates turf and strengthens the lawn along with thorough weed control.
  5. Late Fall:
    Application of a quick release nitrogen fertilizer to promote a strong root system throughout the winter and ensure early spring green up.
  6. Winter:
    Application of a slow release nitrogen fertilizer to nourish the soil and develop a strong root system throughout the winter assuring early spring green up.

Our ornamental and tree care programs are designed to provide a healthy landscape. Your landscape is a valuable asset and proper care can assure the most value and appeal. Maintaining the health of your landscape plants is much more cost effective than replacement. Our 6 step ornamental and small tree care program is designed to assure a healthy landscape throughout every season.

  1. Early Spring:
    Spring fertilizer Application to promote vigorous root and foliage growth.
  2. Spring:
    Includes inspection for insects and early fungicide application as needed to prevent fungus and disease.
  3. Late Spring:
    Late application of fungicide as needed to prevent fungus and disease. Inspect ornamental trees and shrubs for damage or infestation.
  4. Early Summer:
    Insect treatment to control insects on junipers, pines, burning bush etc. Inspect ornamental trees and shrubs for damage or infestation.
  5. Late Summer:
    Inspect ornamental trees and shrubs for damage or infestation. Spot treatment for insects or disease.
  6. Fall:
    Fall fertilizer Application to establish healthy root system and strengthen plant structure.
